Ghana are heading to the 2014 World Cup full of confidence after humiliating South Korea 4-0 in an international friendly on Monday.

Olympique Marseille striker Jordan Ayew scored a hat-trick with captain Asamoah Gyan also finding his name on the score sheet to make up for the 1-0 defeat to the Netherlands late last month in Rotterdam.

The Taegeuk Warriors hardly threatened the goal area of Ghana throughout proceedings as the Black Stars proved a mouthful for their visitors in Miami.

Young Ayew replaced Spartak Moscow striker Abdul Majeed Waris as early as the fifth minute, when the latter limped off the pitch. Ayew, who had a torrid season in the French Ligue 1 last season, immediately announced his presence by opening the scoring to give Ghana a one goal lead in the 11th minute.

Al Ain striker and Ghana captain Asamoah Gyan put the four-time African champions in the driving seat with a well placed goal a minute to end the first half.

The 2010 World Cup quarter-finalists returned strongly into the game after the interval creating room for Ayew to bag his double in the 53rd minute. The Asian defense went sleeping in the dying embers of the warm-up clash as a well crossed ball from the edge of the box by Harrison Afful met Ayew, who then tapped into the net to earn his hat-trick.

The Black Stars will now head to Brazil with high hopes as they prepare to face USA, Germany and Portugal in Group G at the World Cup.
