Boakye GyanBoakye Gyan calls for establishment of National Interest Training Centre

A member of the erstwhile Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC), Major Kwadwo Boakye Gyan (Rtd), has proposed the establishment of a National Interest

Training Center where people who not privy to serious decision making bodies can have access and disseminate information to the outside world.

According to Osahene Boakye Gyan, regular training on information flow from Ghana to the outside world is very important to safeguarding the national interest.

Major Rtd Boakye Gyan said this on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem on Monday, in relation to the recent Wikileaks publication of leaked diplomatic cables on interactions between some Ghanaian officials and their counterparts from the US Embassy in Accra.

"My disappointment over this issue is that the critical issue of the matter has not been discussed by senior politicians," Boakye Gyan said.

He advised the government to identify loopholes in the dissemination of information to diplomats and deal with it immediately.

In another development, Boakye Gyan confirmed he had submitted nomination forms to contest the Jaman South parliamentary seat on the ticket of the ruling National Democratic Congress.

He said he had met the entire requirements and awaiting a report from the national executives.

He said he submitted the forms on the 15th of September, 2011.
