Hilda AddoLet Alan K Be…No Amount Of Hitler Tactics Can Daunt Him - Hilda Addo

07 September 2014

Ashanti Regional Campaign Director for Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen has slammed the action of some elders of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to impose on Alan to bow out of the October 18, 2014 Congress following Nana Akufo Addo’s sweeping victory chalked during last Sunday’s Super Delegates’ Congress.

Some Concerned Groups and Regional Executives of the opposition party, days after the Super Delegates Congress, have held meetings with Mr Kyerematen and the other Presidential hopefuls ostensibly to impress on them the need to bow out for Nana Akufo Addo to go unopposed.

But the former NPP MP for Kwaadaso, Hon. Hilda Josephine Addo who doubles as the Spokesperson for Alan Kyerematen points out that, the decision to choose a Presidential Candidate for the NPP does not rest with the delegates that voted during the Special Electoral College.

To her, the total votes of 740 delegates, out of which Nana Addo polled over 80%, is not a true reflection of the over 140,000 delegates who will be eligible to vote in the main October 18 Congress.

Speaking on Okay Fm’s Ade Akye Abia Morning Show, Hilda Addo cautioned Nana Addo’s crusaders to stop intimidating Alan Kyerematen’s supporters and their constant attempt to prevail on him to quit the race.

She called on such proponents to allow the NPP’s constitution to work since any tactics to portray Alan as a pig-headed member will not wash.

Alan Kyerematen“The whole world can declare for Nana Addo but Alan Kyerematen will continue with his campaign message…..The National Executives who voted do not constitute the total number of voters at the National Congress which require 141,000 votes. People should not think that Alan Kyerematen is being obstinate with his refusal to bow out for Nana Addo. Alan believes that the grass roots are calling for him…..we are not declaring any Hitler tactics in the party……if Nana Addo will win again in the main congress, why the noise that Alan should bow out of the contest for him? Nobody should be disappointed and focus on the campaign and I will urge delegates to vote for the candidate they believe can win power than a candidate imposed on them,” she opined.
