The leadership of the National Democratic Congress says it is least bothered about whether or not Mrs. Rawlings will accept to be the flagbearer of the newly formed National Democratic Party.
Mrs. Rawlings is reported to have had a meeting with the Ashanti regional executives of the NDP to woo her to join the party and accept to be their flagbearer.
But the Ashanti Regional Secretary of the NDC, Joseph Yammin says Mrs. Rawlings is only deceiving herself by creating the impression she is being courted to join the NDP. “We are least bothered about the development especially when we don’t know who Mrs. Rawlings and the executives are deceiving” He told XYZ News in an interview.
Joseph Yammin has however dared the former first lady to be bold and publicly state that she is behind the party and stop the pretence. “If Mrs. Rawlings is really as bold as we are meant to believe then I think that Mrs. Rawlings should own up and tell everybody that she is the founder of NDP rather than pretending as if certain people are pleading with her to lead that party”.
