Party General Secretary Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie aka ‘Sir John’ told supporters at a press conference to continue to wait for justice as the legal battle begins tomorrow.

Sir John said the NPP believes it won the December 2012 polls, and it was confident the inauguration of John Dramani Mahama would be reversed by the Supreme Court based on the weight of evidence the party would provide to support its petition to the Court.

Chairman of the NPP Jake Obetsebi Lamptey, who addressed the press conference designed to respond to claims by the Electoral Commission that the NPP had no case, disclosed that additional information has been collected to support the evidence in court.

He says the NPP’s legal team is ready to meet the EC and President John Mahama at the Supreme Court today, and is very is confident of victory.

Adom News spoke with Sir John who brushed aside the argument by a section of the public that the issue should be left to die.

He says the legal battle at the Supreme Court is not for the 5 million people who voted for the NPP but to restore the confidence of Ghanaians in the country’s democracy.

Meanwhile EC has filed a defence to the NPP’s suit and requested the Supreme Court to dismiss the petition.
