Abudus And Andanis Must Stop Media War - Chief Imam

Sheikh Imam Hussein Rashid, Chief Imam and spiritual leader of the Salawaatia Muslim Mission in Ghana has slammed Dagbon Scholars for using the media to settle their personal scores in-connection with the age long protracted Abudu and Andani chieftaincy dispute.

He regretted that leaders from both sides of the chieftaincy divide have lately failed to use dialogue as the panacea to resolving their differences and rather chose to wash their dirty leaning in the public via the media.

Sheikh Imam Rashid affectionately called "kutubu zamaani" was reacting to the recent media gimmicks exhibited by Dr. Iddi Ziblim, spokesperson of the Abudu gate and Dr. Yahuza Gomda of the Andani gate on Citi Fm’s Eyewitness news on Monday, May 17.

The Salawaatia Muslim Mission spiritual leader said it was unfortunate the way the problem was been handled and called on Dagombas to redeem the sinking image of the Dagbon Kingdom by ceasing the media warfare.

He also challenged Dagombas to re-channel their resources into educating their children to make them productive citizens as a means of eradicating the ‘Kayaaye” menace.

"Instead of us building the future of our children to narrow the gap between them and their colleagues in the southern part of the country: we are rather interested in using the media to destroy ourselves,"he lamented.

Sheikh Imam Rashid however commended all the stakeholders mediating the Dagbon conflict and encouraged them never to relax in resolving the issue.
