CDM Mounts Pressure On Prez Mills

The Committee for Democratic Movement (CDM) is mounting pressure on President Mills to deliver his promises made during his campaign tour to ensure a transparent government and security in the country.

In an interview with Peacefmonline, the spokesperson for CDM, Mr. Budu Yaw Asamoah said their action is meant to remind President Mills to deliver on his campaign promises because there is a stake of insecurity in the nation.

He said since the transfer of power, some people have taken the law of the country into their own hands by seizing people’s cars and beating up others. He used as an example the seizure of the Barclays bank managing director’s car and the executive force used by the military against the people of Oda.

In addition, the spokespersons said President Mills promised to reduce fuel prices drastically, but have ended up reducing fuel prices just marginally. He said 5% reduction on fuel prices is too small and therefore cannot be called ‘drastic’.
